ArtformAudio is designed as a vehicle through which creative director Adam Rignall can indulge his divergent interests and engage creatively, and commercially, with all sectors of the professional audio industry.

As a sound designer and composer Adam has worked on numerous local and international screen-based media projects. He is currently the in-house sound designer for Melbourne based production company Artificial Studios, and was part of the Regatta Studios sound design team for independent feature film 'The Cure'.

As a studio engineer Adam has both recorded and mixed numerous artists ranging from jazz and singer songwriter to warped beats and ambient music. He is the house engineer for Kindred Studios with clients including the Telstra/Mushroom Road to Discovery competition where he worked as engineer with producer Andy Bull. Adam is also an experienced live sound engineer and system technician and has worked in this capacity at numerous venues in both Brisbane and Melbourne including the Judith Wright Centre, the Yarraville Festival, the Setting Sun Short Film Festival and the Melbourne Town Hall.

Aside from his work in the professional audio industry Adam has held positions in the Audio & Sound Production departments at JMC Academy in Brisbane and Victoria University in Melbourne. He is an Avid Certified Pro Tools User and a Professional User of Logic Pro and is regularly engaged to deliver private tuition in this area.

Adam finds endless intrigue in the mysterious ways that sound and music serve to engage the listener and trigger emotion. He is fluent in cutting edge technology and the creative practices that facilitate this. Holding tertiary qualifications from S.A.E (Diploma of Music – Technical Production) and QUT (BFA – Sound Design), Adam completed a research Honours in Music Production that examined the phenomenological experience of acousmatic sound. The result is a creative approach to music and sound production that is informed by principles of music psychology and affect as much as it is by music theory and contemporary audio engineering and sound design practices.

Combining a diverse, professional skillset with highly developed communication skills, ArtformAudio works collaboratively with clients to turn creative concepts into emotive audio realities, regardless of budget. From studio and live recording to sound for screen-based media and technical services, ArtformAudio has all your sonic needs covered.
